It's time for hometown dates! Jake visited Gia in NYC and didn't go to her family's home ... they met for dinner at a restaurant! Nothing like homestyle cookin'! But prior to some quality family time, they boarded ship and took a tour of the city with digital camera in hand. They talked some about Gia's past failed relationships and had fun with the Statue of Liberty. The family gathering seemed a bit disjointed where Jake met Gia's mom, stepfather, stepbrother, and half brother (why couldn't she just have introduced him as brother?). It went relatively well, especially when Erick jokingly mentioned breaking both of Jake's legs if he hurt Gia. They closed out the evening with a romantic kiss on some random steps in the barrio watching the taxis drive past.

Next was Ali's time with Jake in “hometown” Williamstown, MA. Did it seem bizarre to you, too, that they toured her dead grandma's house? The falling leaves and making wishes as they caught them was kind of cheesy, but what do you expect on a “reality” TV show? Next stop was Ali's family's home and he met her mom, sister, and brother. They had some casual conversation and grilled him a little bit. Ali's mother gave her blessing to Jake and later confessed to Ali that her gut feeling was always right and that he was going to give her a ring. I guess you're going to be wrong, Momma!

The third date, as shown on TV, was Tenley's hometown of Newberg, OR. They took a walk through the woods, chatted about marital expectations, and eventually wound up at her former dance studio. Tenley awkwardly choreographed and performed a private (lap – NOT) dance for Jake. Unfortunately her ex-husband had no appreciation for dance and she wasn't able to give that gift to him. Whoa, poor Tenley! Are you wondering where she got the name Tenley? I think of two things ... Ninely and Tetley (as in tea leaves). Just had to put that in here. Anywho, they made it to her family's home for a “meet & greet & grill.” Her mom, dad, and sister were all weepy at one point or another, made Tenley and Jake cry as well. Jake got a blessing from her dad.

So who's left? VIENNA – the VIXEN (according to many Bachelor reporting sites, but not my opinion). Like the other women, Vienna jumped into Jake's arms while in Sanford, FL. They rode on a pontoon boat down the lake where she grew up. I wonder if she swam with the gators? They talk about her failed marriage and past boyfriends, too. Then she wished Jake good luck with her dad. They went to her parent's home where the dad, stepmom, dog and sister welcome them both with open arms. Later Vinny, Vienna's dad, showed Jake his prize possession motorcycle. He wants Jake to treat her like a princess if he chose her in the end. They finished off this segment, more or less, with them kissing on the bed behind a closed door where Vienna's dad busted in on them! Too funny!

Back to the City of Angels, Ali paid a visit to Jake and broke down in tears. Reader's Digest version: come back to work NOW or lose your job. Of course Jake wanted her to stay, but didn't want her to get fired either. He wasn't much help. She decided to “sit on it” for a while and make the decision by the rose ceremony. So all four women arrived, and Ali talked privately with Chris. After more tears and a discussion, Ali chose her job over Jake. He walked her out to the limo and didn't shed nearly as many tears as she did. He made his way to the room with the other 3 women and gave roses to Tenley, Gia, and Vienna because they got them by DEFAULT!

Regarding Ali's exit, did it seem like deja vous? Remember Ed doing that to what's her face Canadian girl? I wonder if they're still dating? I guess that hit the nail on the head for Jake to choose Vienna because I sure don't see him meshing well with city girl Gia (complete with tarrot card reading mother) or too pure and used up Tenley. Next week Jake sucks a lot of face and gets all he can from the remaining three women in St. Lucia. On 2/22 we'll see massive cat fights (reeeeeer) in The Women Tell All, and last, but certainly not least, the grand poobah finale on 3/1 is all about the ring and another failing, too quick attempt at marriage ... wham-bam-thank you-ma'am style!

According to Reality TV Calendar, “The final two will be Tenley and Vienna. Jake will pick but not propose to Vienna. When the show is over we'll hear they have broken up. Vienna will be the next Bachelorette.” So I wonder how long before Jake makes San Francisco a rendezvous point to visit Ali from time to time? Hmmmm ......
