Some really excelled & others, not so much.

Karen & Kevin are up first w/ the Hustle.  We learned that since we first saw her, Karen is now divorced.  No shock there.  I thought their dance was very awkward & I was totally annoyed at the end when Kevin almost dropped her & they tried to cover it up by milking the audience for an extended period of time for applause.  I am always going to be annoyed w/ this couple cuz Karen is constantly shoved down our throat for being the bestest, hottest thing ever.  I am growing tired of Adam being a permanent judge already too.  He talked FOREVER tonight & would ramble on & didn't make much sense.  Does every talent competition have to have 1 whacked out judge?  & hell, this one has 2.  I took some notes of what Adam had to say but then would grow bored & zone him out.  So I only have the things that stuck out to me.  He said they made it work for them & he thought it was amazing.  He saw Kevin for the 1^st time [another lame comment about how hot Karen is he can't see anything else.  Whatever].  Mary said Karen is amazing & was surprised how much performing Kevin did.  She said they are still on the train.  Nigel was absolutely delighted w/ what Kevin did.  He thought Karen added to the choreography & thinks she will go a long way in the competition.  I sure hope not.

Ashleigh & Jakob did a Jazz routine by Mandy Moore.  Jakob told us his BFF is last season's winner, Jeanine.  Many did a good job choreographing this I thought cuz Ashleigh's role was minimized so you didn't notice that she has the least amount of talent there.  I thought it ended up being a decent routine.  Adam said Ashleigh belongs on this show.  He said they are starting to breathe together.  Mary thinks it's the perfect partnership.  Ashleigh develops every character & keeps getting better & better while Jakob is strong, passionate & brilliant.  Nighel said Ashleigh gets better every week & Jakob reminds him of Joel Grey.

Pauline & Peter got the Quickstep, also known as the "Kiss of Death" since people get kicked off after doing it.  I didn't like it at all.  It seemed very amateur & even the worst "Star" on DWTS could have outdanced them.  Adam said there were technical missteps but they are adorable.  Mary expected it to be a trainwreck but they pulled it off.  It was an amazing performance though clunky in party.  Nigel said it wasn't technically perfect but he didn't care.  He thought it was a fabulous performance & they aren't going anywhere.

Kathryn & Legacy got a Broadway routine.  I thought it was very good.  Adam said he wasn't sure what Kathryn's character was but her dancing was adorable.  He thinks Legacy took a huge step in his growth.  Mary said it was missing chemistry but the routine was adorable.  She thought Kathryn got lost but Legacy is growing.  Nigel was a little disappointed w/ Kathryn.  He thought it felt juvenile.  Legacy has gone from street dancer to complete dancer & thinks he's an inspiration to the choreographers.

Channing & Victor did a Contemporary piece & I absolutely loved it but thought her flesh colored outfit was creepy & would think SYTYCD would have learned their lesson of letting girls wear that when the one girl last season dropped to the floor & spread them & everyone thought she was naked.  But I guess it got people talking about the show so any press is good press.  Adam thought the new partnership has invigorated the competition & they danced beautifully.  Mary said it is a great new partnership & thought they did a tremendous job.  Nigel said they had to be good cuz this is their style but they didn't get him emotionally.  He was expecting so much more since it's their style.  Then he basically said they will be out of their element next week & will suck.

Ellenore & Ryan tried to do a Hip Hop from Lil C & he has already done this choreography on the Canadian version of STYTYCD but they called it a Krumping routine.  & their outfits were black instead of white.  I thought this was horrible from start to finish.  At the beginning it was a whole lot of nothing.  I don't know who is more at fault for this POS, the dancers or the choreographer.  I just don't ever want to see it again.  Adam said Ryan is the most transformed danver of the night but they didn't dance great.  Mary said it was a crime that Ellenore was so covered up.  She didn't think it was great but it was good.  It got sluggish 1/2way through.  Nigel said it wasn't good at all.  The style didn't suit either of them & there was a lot missing.

Mollee & Nathan got the Salsa.  I found it interesting that Mollee is deaf in her left ear since I am also deaf in my left ear.  She has been since she was a baby & was eventually given a hearing aid to wear but it through off her balance in her dancing so she doesn't wear it.  It just seemed like 2 solo dancers on the same stage.  They weren't in sync & the tricks were horrible.  Adam said this was another bad luck of the draw that exposed all their weaknesses.  He knows they have big fanbases & thinks that will pull them through.  Mary said it was French fried, not sexified.  She said a lot was missed.  Nigel said it has been sobering for many tonight.  They keep saying it's the best Top 20 they've ever had but this exposed everyone's weaknesses.  Their chemistry was missing for the 1^st time.  He said they have learned they are not great at everything.

Noelle & Russell ended the night w/ an Afro Jazz routine.  Noelle's brother had a stroke years ago & can't use one hand & he is her inspiration.  I thought this was a great routine & they did it very well.  The 69 move they did was kind of creepy though & I can't imagine people just meeting & then being told they were going to continually put their crotch in their face & have the other's crotch in their face.  Adam said they were totally commited to the characters & he had a fantastic time watching.  Mary said that was crazy... good.  She thought Noelle was so in there & she got more from Russell than she expected.  Um, that's what she said?  LoL.  She said Russell is the King of Afro Jazz & the King of the Hot Tamale Train.  Nigel said Russell is a star of the season.  Noelle scraped by last week & he is happy she did so they got to see this routine.  He thought it was a great job.

Nigel thinks Ryan & Ellenore are in danger.  Mary thinks it's Nathan & Mollee.  Adam agreed it was those 2 couples & said it was the pick of the hat & now it's in the hands of the fans.

I think Ryan or Peter will get the boot for the guys & I would love for Ashleigh or Karen to go for the girls but I think it will be Pauline.
