What is Bob going to do with the money?

1^st stop: ‘The Early Show'.  He landed in NYC just an hour ago before the interview.  He said he feels like it is a dream & doesn't want to wake up.  It's a dream & can't believe it.  They whisked him away so fast.  He was on a plane & then in a limo & he pulled in there, has done 2 interviews, he hasn't had much time to think.

The host then gives him the real check for a million dollars.  She said everyone on the staff have rubbed it for luck.  She said a schoolteacher has a million dollars in his pocket now & asked what his students will think of that.  Bob said they will think they don't have to take the test today but they are.  He said they will be pretty excited, probably as much as him.

What is he going to do w/ the money?  He & his wife have never had a honeymoon & been married 28 years & only spent 4 hours together in Gabon so he is thinking maybe it would be a good idea to go back to Gabon & have a proper vacation & honeymoon.  That's the 1^st thing that comes to mind.  The host said the place you suffered for all these weeks?  Bob said he didn't suffer.  He had a good time.  He was lucky enough to have a great tribe & met some nice castaways that were w/ him.  It was, other than marrying Peg, a highlight, an adventure of his life.

Did he think his age helped him.  He said older is wiser & thinks it did help him.  It helped him fly UTR & until he started winning challenges they didn't expect him to do some of the things he was able to do.  He is lucky to be in as good of shape as he is.  Matty was a tough competitor as was Kenny.  He wasn't easy to beat.  Susie beat him at the 1^st fire challenge.  They gave him a run for his money.

Then we move on to ‘Live with Regis & Kelly'.  He's wearing the same outfit & reminds me of Indiana Jones' father w/ his leather jacket, hat & big red bowtie.

Regis asked him how he liked Gabon & Bob said it's absolutely gorgeous.  Regis said he's the oldest winner.  Bob said it makes you feel good doesn't it.  Regis said he is a physics teacher in Maine.  Bob said he started teaching when he was around 35.  He did other things before that.  Kelly pointed out how he would tie the buff into a bowtie & she asked if he can tie bowties.  Bob said he was kind of cheating.  His son told him to wear an elastic belt & then he cut the elastic out & used it for the bowtie.  Bob said it was the 1^st bowtie on ‘Survivor'.

Regis said here are all these young bucks & gorgeous gals out there, how did he feel.  Was he intimidated?  Bob said yes.  He was distracted by all the cute girls.  Regis asked how Probst treated him & Bob said he's a great guy.  Regis said he won cuz he had the Immunity Idols right?  Kelly is distracted watching Bob tie his bowtie.  Bob pulled the fake Idol out of his pocket.  Kelly said he fooled them twice w/ them.  Bob said 1 & a half.  As he's pulling the one that went into the fire Kelly called him "Indiana Jones" & that cracked me up as I had already typed that he reminds me of his father.  Bob said it burned up a bit & it looked much better before that.

Bob said he had to continually win challenges & as soon as he lost one, Susie beat him at it, had he lost the fire challenge someone else would be sitting there.

Regis asked how much he won & Bob said 1.1 million dollars.  Kelly asked where the .1 comes from & Bob told them about the Fan Favorite.  Kelly said the other players must absolutely hate that he got all the money.

Regis & Kelly congratulate him & that's that.
