MF: Thank you so much for taking the time to do this with me! The first thing I just have to know is did you get back the ex-boyfriend that you went on the show for?
Marcellas: Great question! Yes, we got back together. Sorta! I'm here and he is there so it is difficult! I love him. I'll be in New York for the spring/summer fashion shows, so we will be together again! I signed to model w/ Ford Models, so I hope I will book something. So far I have been put on hold for the Gap! Let's hope that happens!
MF: What was the casting process like?
Marcellas: Blissfully easy for me! I felt from the very beginning that I would make it! I think I was a little over the top but it worked! I have to admit taking all the time off to go back and forth to L.A. for the semi-finals and finals wasn't fun. I turned it down @ one point!
MF: Do you think you were negative the first few days that made them target you first?
Marcellas: No. I feel I was sorta the same "over the top dramatic" boy all the way thru! I think Josh saw me as a challenge and put that out there about me and the "group of jackals" jumped on it! : ) It was a brilliant way for him to deflect from his own gross behavior. I do think that once I got there the gravity of being gay on t.v. did hit me. I was @ points, the first week, terrifically overwhelmed! It showed.
MF: Who did you bond with first?
Marcellas: Lisa. We were both ex-models and spent time in New York. That's why I was so hurt to be nominated by her. I thought she got it. I thought she understood me.
MF: Do you think Lori really went crazy?
Marcellas: No, I think she just might have been too sensitive for the game. It's the same thing that happened to me @ the end! She was and remains one of my favorite houseguests!
MF: Did you have any clue how close Danielle & Jason were?
Marcellas: Yes. I did think, however, that Danielle was smart enough to know that she could never beat him. I think it would have been much smarter for her to take Amy or I to the end. Jason made no bones about his attachment to Danielle... he told me as much. I thought Danielle needed me to get rid of him for her. In the end she had Lisa do it! Brilliant! Dani played a great game.
MF: What was the worst thing of being locked in that house?
Marcellas: I missed my life so much! I have been blessed w/ terrific friends and a family who loves me! I love what I do for a living and it is such an exciting time to be alive! I was experiencing success in my work and I'd just had my heart broken for the first time! I felt so creatively alive that it was hard to focus on being there and not feeling like I was missing something better!
MF: What do you think of Gerry now? Do you think he saved you or not?
Marcellas: He saved me as well as himself. I think he was smart to do what he did and I am grateful for the chance to stay in the game longer. I would not have gone to Mexico. @ that point I really wanted out! I'm much more New York or London anyway! I'm sorry for some of the things I said about him (Gerry) in the house. I can be very mean. Words... they are a powerful thing. I wish him happiness and love, as I do all the houseguests!
MF: I read about things you & Lisa have done together so I know you still talk to her. Who else do you stay in tough with from your cast?
Marcellas: Lisa is my girl! I just left an abs class w/ her! We are both being auctioned off in Shannon Elizabeth's charity (<a href=”www.animalavengers.com”>animalavengers.com) event this month! I have become really close to Chiara! We have the same agent in New York for acting and hosting! She is so kind and strong... I wish they showed more of that side of her. So much of the show is editing! I talk to Amy all the time! Love her! Danielle called me the other day. I can't wait to see her. I was truly close to her in the house and want to build on that! Jason is my pal! We see each other all the time! Roddy and I have talked and seen each other a few times. He came to my b-day party on Nov. 11 @ belly! In fact, most of the cast was there! And lots of the crew! I saw Eric last week. He looks great!
MF: Which challenge did you like the most? The least? I would guess the least has to be one of the times you had to eat something nasty.
Marcellas: I loved the gnome competition the most! It was so well done! The game guy on the show rocked! I'll never get over my absolute triumph: the chicken livers! I think that for me was a defining moment! I hated any competition that involved swimwear! Speedos... yikes! I still have nightmares!
MF: So do you still have Boo & Huck?
Marcellas: Of course! Huck lives in the pool @ my apt here, in Hollywood! He is no longer vegan... much to my neighbors' horror and despair! Boo has a house in the hills. He really wanted something in Bel-Air but alas, he has to be practical. he is only a reality show star! He's penning his life story and looking over scripts! We share the same publicist (Jim Dobson @ Indie pr) so I see him quite alot! : ) !
MF: What do you think of Roddy now? Do you still think he was the devil?
Marcellas: Never really thought he was the devil! Just the one to beat! So sexy that one! Charm is a verb. I'm really sorry he took that so personally. He has to re-language it! We all were frightened of him! He was a great player!
MF: What do you think of how Danielle played the game where she lied to everyone but said her word was gold?
Marcellas: Lying to us, when so many of us loved was her one true mistake. We really loved her. She played too hard. The path of devastation she left! People hate her. I don't. I saw her for what she was. She was one-sighted and wanted to win. There was a side to Danielle that was so warm and real! That's what I choose to remember. I love her. I know we weren't there for that but I became attached to those people. The last 5 of us in the house, that core group was amazing! The fun times. The down times, before bed in the "HRD". Amy and I in the "HOH", laughing! I treasure those moments! I shared so many of them w/ Dani! She is a part of me and my life!
MF: How is your relationship with Amy now?
Marcellas: I'll know my Amy forever. She is the most amazing woman. I wish I hadn't been so hard on her @ times! She's so young and open! You know she is just gonna get better and better!
MF: Did you not veto yourself cuz Dani convinced you you were safe?
Marcellas: No, I knew I could not trust Dani. I was in the moment and was like an emotional sponge! I felt all the emotions in that room and just got overwhelmed! I cried for 6 hours straight when I got evicted! It was just so much! It really is an endurance test!
MF: Did Dani yell at you like she did Amy about not giving her a vote at the end?
Marcellas: Hell no! Of course not! No one was that crazy in that cast! They all knew I was my own man. For better or worse!
MF: What is your relationship like now with Dani? Is there a different “game Dani” and “real Dani”?
Marcellas: I look forward to expanding on the relationship we started in the house. Lately it's been phone tag! Right now I'm it! I have to call her. Let me make this clear: I bear no one in that house any ill will! 12 strangers came together and made amazing television. Period! I would not change one thing that happened! I lived so much in the 10 weeks I was there! It amazes me still.
MF: My Mom HATED your socks & flip flops. She wants to know if you still wear them : )
Marcellas: Absolutely! It was a personal statement! Besides I have really ugly feet! It started a trend @ Lacey's (Lori's daughters') school! They call it "Marcellas style"!
MF: What happened between Lisa & Eric?
Marcellas: I love them both, I won't speak of that.
MF: Do you feel bad at all at how Gerry was vilified into something way worse than he was? I watched the feeds constantly & he really wasn’t unclean like he was made out to be.
Marcellas: No, I don't. We have to take responsibility for our actions. He, as well as all of the cast, knew he was on screen. You know what a fanatic I am about clean. That hasn't changed!
MF: Do you think the targeting of Gerry being nasty & Roddy being the devil was just a way for people to direct negative attention onto them & away from themselves?
Marcellas: Yes. It happened to all of us! I was a victim of that several times! It was part of the game. Josh started it and Danielle made it a science! I was guilty of it, also. It is part of the game! We all liked each other so much we had to almost make ourselves hate each other to evict someone.
MF: How did your life change after doing the show?
Marcellas: The first weeks were unreal! I felt like a huge celebrity! I had to leave several places because it became so much w/ people touching and grabbing. You really can never prepare for that. The overwhelming response by the public has been so kind. It was lovely to be embraced in that way. So positive! I've gotten to do so many things that I never imagined! To be one of the hosts of the Los Angeles Aids Walk! Wow! I'm so grateful! So many doors opened, I now have to pick one and go thru it!
MF: What would you change about the game for future editions to make it better?
Marcellas: The live feeds killed me. The people who had them really seem to feel like they know so much about the guests and the show. The live feed subscribers are relentless. I think they should protect houseguests from them more. There seems to be this lack of respect for the stress of having a camera and microphone on you all the time that you don't get from regular viewers! The other thing they need to do is get silent cameras! You really could not have a honest moment because once you started to, the cameras would crane! Loudly! You can't be real w/ the world watching!
MF: Did you get to tour behind the walls? If so, what was that like?
Marcellas: The show is such a massive production! So many talented people work very hard to get that show out! The camera cross is amazing! Did you know that George Clooney did a behind the scenes walk thru! He was a fan! You really feel the power of the whole thing behind the scenes! They can see it all! And they do!
MF: What advice do you give future BBers?
Marcellas: Cherish every second you are there. It is the opportunity of a lifetime! The chance to grow like no other! Mentally, spiritually. I know myself so much better now!
MF: Would you do a celebrity BB?
Marcellas: Yes! Without a doubt! I was asked to do ‘The Amazing Race’ and passed but Celebrity BB. Awesome!
MF: What did your family think of seeing you on the show?
Marcellas: My aunts hate it but who cares! I never correspond w/ them anyway! No one would know I was related to them unless they said so. My mother was so proud of the man I am! I am so proud of her! She learned something about me and I in turn learned so much more about her! I have been estranged from my father and now because of the show that side of the family has reached out to me! They thought I and the show were amazing! I never knew my father (before doing BB3), so this is truly a blessing!
MF: How do you like being recognized everywhere now?
Marcellas: You know I love it! As you could tell I'm an attention hog! I'm on my websites (<a href=”www.marcellas-reynolds.com”>Marcellas-Reynolds.com and <a href=”www.marcellasreynolds.com”>marcellasreynolds.com) almost everyday updating! It rocks because people have been so kind! If I were vilified I might feel different! I just wish I had the money that real celebrities have! : ) The parties and the events are cool! Love the perks!
MF: What are you up to now? Any talk shows in your future?
Marcellas: No talk shows! I'm modelling again and love it! Ford Models is an amazing agency to work with! I am shooting a pilot for Showtime in January! It was first @ Lifetime Television. It's for a lifestyle, fashion and travel show that I will be one of the hosts for! Let's hope it gets picked up!
MF: Anything else you would like to add?
