MF: Thanks Will for taking the time to answer some questions.
WILL: Let me start off my saying that MediaFiends is the one of the few sites that gets it. Jackie, you have an amazing sense of humor and you don’t take things too seriously. After all, a lot of people seem to have forgotten that Big Brother is JUST a reality show. Take a deep breath (no seriously, take one) and get ready for the most open, honest interview from a former Big Brother houseguest you will ever see…
MF: Right out of the gate, there are so many HG chats and interviews going on this week. What makes yours special?
WILL: I suspect this interview will be the best that any houseguest has given. Why is that? Am I so confident about my ability to answer questions in an entertaining manner? Hell no, it’s just that every other interview I have read has been terrible. All the other houseguests are petrified of having their egos bruised. They are so afraid of offending the fans or potential All-Stars, or CBS. The internet fans kiss the butts of the former HGs – it sickens me. I’d rather have open communication than recycled fluff. Some who read this may not like me but I hope they keep an open mind and I hope they can respect some honest answers for a change…Let’s get it on!
MF: You are THE BEST player to ever play BB, or any reality show for that matter, & if you don’t get in the house, they can’t call the show “All Stars”. What is your biggest motivation for doing the show again? I am sure the money is nice & all but you & Boogie are pretty successful so I wouldn’t think that is it. It has to be to prove once & for all that you are the best to play the game. So, why are you doing All-Stars?
WILL: I’m sitting here wondering the exact same thing. It’s the day before sequester and my heart just isn’t in it this time. I’m hoping I get motivated in the next few days but at this point I just don’t see that happening. I probably should have retired a champion – I can’t believe I just wrote that…how conceited! One of the problems is that the expectations have been set so high there is no way that they can be met. I guess I’m hoping to promise low and deliver high. Bottom Line, I’m going back for four reasons: Easy money, and interesting life experience, a fun summer, and to help Mike Boogie.
MF: From Pearl: Will someone be available to take over your medical practice while you take this extended vacation?
WILL: Candidly, I don’t expect to be gone too long. I’m the Chief Resident in the Department of Dermatology and two of the other residents who are both good friends of mine will see my patients for the time I’ll be away. Additionally, I’ve saved up vacation days…
MF: How many restaurants do you have & can you tell us about them?
WILL: I’m an investor in a number of projects, many of which are restaurants that Mike Boogie owns: Dolce, Geisha House, Bella, Les Deux as well as a sports bar, Big Wang’s. We have three new places opening in Atlanta this summer, a new place in Santa Ana…
MF: Your season of BB was the best. Will they ever put it on DVD?
WILL: Thank you. We tried to make it interesting. People always tell that Season 2 was the best season but I’m sure if they just tell me that because it’s me. True fans of the show that may have missed our season should try to find it on the net. It is my understanding that it will not be released on DVD because some of us refused to sign the appropriate paperwork allowing them to issue the DVD.
MF: Besides Boogie, do you talk to anyone from your season? I know you & Shannon dated for awhile but have you kept in touch with her at all?
WILL: Monica, Nicole and Hardy are the people I’ve kept in touch with. I see Hardy when I go to Miami (he is truly running things there!) and I see Monica when I’m in New York. I’ll see Nicole in Atlanta this summer. I haven’t spoken to Shannon in a few years. You have to remember, BB2 was 5 years ago. People change. She is a great girl. I have nothing but nice things to say about her…I see Boogie’s crazy ass every few days! (Note to the web: next time anyone interviews Mike Boogie please ask him about the time I had to take him to the ER after he was bitten in a Del Taco parking lot!)
MF: I did the feeds your whole season & I started out just HATING you. You are just that good that you got me to flip. How would you describe your strategy for your season for those latecomers that didn’t see it?
WILL: With all due respect, in my experience, the internet fans are far too opinionated. They quickly pick a “favorite” and then blast the web with how awesome that person is. Sometimes it takes a little while to understand how someone ticks. To answer your questions, I was unliked at the beginning of Big Brother 2 because everyone judged me in the first 5 minutes (luckily for me it turns out!). As the show progressed the fans started to understand my strategy and what I was trying to accomplish…
MF: On your season the evicted got to see your DR’s. Now they are sequestered. Will that change anything for you? I am not sure it would cuz you were always honest in your lies.
WILL: Sequestering the evicted houseguests is total BS. Who does it protect? Weak players who are afraid to speak their mind. If it were up to me I’d totally abolish the sequester house. Worse still, they no longer allow the first few evicted houseguests to vote. It’s a total crock. It is my understanding that sequestering rule was put in place to avoid another season like BB3 where Lisa coasted to the end without really playing.
MF: How easy was it to steamroll your cast?
WILL: If you only watched the show it looked easy but the truth is, I was edited very favorably. Unless you just “fly under the radar” there is a ton of skill required to win Big Brother but luck plays a part as well. Many time I just got lucky.
MF: What is the deal between you & Kaysar? I read he kicked you out of his chat. I thought you were hilarious. Was that just an act & you & Kaysar are cool or did you just enjoy pushing his buttons? I have to say that I understand your frustration though. I can’t stand chats. Way too hectic & pointless.
WILL: Exactly - Chats are pointless! Worst still, from what I’ve read, the former houseguests just pussyfoot around. Love me or hate me, I try to make it interesting and I’ll always give you the straight scoop.
So here is the deal with Kaysar: I never watched any season of Big Brother other then some of Season 3. I’ve done some research in the last few weeks though but I hadn’t gotten to BB6 and I had no idea who Kaysar was. Someone called me on the phone and asked if I would be interested in doing a chat on Kaysar’s site. Honestly, and I’m not sure why I assumed this, but I was under the impression it was going to be a chat about reality television with multiple reality television personalities…I thought it might be a good way to get some press for some of my projects. The person who called was so excited to speak to me that I figured I’d be doing someone a favor. Anyway, to make a long story short, I had never really done a chat and as the day approached I decided I wasn’t going to do it. I was too busy, I wanted to relax, and I guess I just lost interest in the idea. I was at a Bar-B-Q with some friends and I told them the situation and as I was going to the computer to cancel the chat they asked if they could sit in for me. “Sure, why not?” How do I think they did? Awesome! I read it a few days later and it was hilarious. They were drunk as hell and got a huge kick out of it so at least someone was happy! Kaysar’s web-person called to thank me profusely for the chat and I didn’t have the heart to tell her that it wasn’t me. The experience taught me one thing: Some people out there take things way too seriously. Anyone who has ever posted on the web regarding this chat needs to seriously re-evaluate their free time. Please, get a hobby. Please do something constructive: Hug your kids, kiss your wife, and take your dog to the park, just please don’t spend your life on the computer debating the validity of an internet chat! Bottom line: I don’t know Kaysar, I have never done a chat, and there are a lot of people on the internet with too much time on their hands.
MF: I read an interview with Howie in TV Guide where he actually says he is better looking than you. Is he high or stupid?
WILL: I’m not completely sure who Howie is. I’ve been trying to do some last minute research on the other houseguests. Someone told me he was an unemployed weatherman. She also described him as a “one trick pony”. I guess he is pretty childish. I love a good sense of humor though so I’ll keep an open mind and defiantly give the guy a chance. I saw his clip on CBS but I wasn’t really paying attention. As far as looks go, five years ago I was in much better shape. I’ll still have the best abs on television this summer (reality or scripted) but physical appearances simply hasn’t been a top priority as of late…
MF: What are you thoughts on the internet fans?
Will: Oh boy, here we go…I’ll make an analogy: When you see someone talking to themselves and striking the air at the bus stop, they don’t realize that they are crazy. Same thing with the Big Brother internet fans. The weirdest ones are the ones that think they are completely normal. If you are reading this right now and you are thinking, “that doesn’t apply to me”, you may be wrong - It likely does apply to you. Also, if you watch this show on the computer at night, keep that a secret. If you tell anyone they will know that you are not normal. Lastly, if you have ever gotten into a debate regarding a potential All-Star houseguest, calmly ask a family member to check you into a mental ward this afternoon.
MF: & while we are talking about your hotness, it is funny what people remember. My husband does not watch BB or the feeds but hears me talk about them all the time. When I told him about this interview his only question was do you still shave your balls? Do I need to wonder about my 20-year relationship that the first thing he thinks about is your balls?
WILL: Your husband wants to know if I shave my balls?!? Tell him to watch the live feeds starting July 6th! Oh, and you may want to look for a good divorce attorney. P.S. You and your husband should both check in to a mental ward this afternoon! ;)
MF: Who are you going to align with this season?
WILL: No one is going to align with me once the show starts. No one is that foolish. Even Mike Boogie won’t align with me. I’ll be the first evicted…
MF: Have you made any deals with anyone before going into the house?
WILL: Let me put it this way: I received multiple phone calls from former houseguests in the last few weeks. In accordance with my contract I’m not allowed to disclose who approached me but I can tell you rumors I have heard. Some were HGs who called I have never heard of and one didn’t make it in the top 20. Did they call me because they respect me? I don’t think so. They called to try to align simply to avoid my wrath. No one trusts me and as a result I can’t trust anyone either. At first blush it’s frustrating but upon further review it’s actually a relief because there is no pressure.
MF: Do you & Boogie have anything cooked up?
WILL: Again, my expectations are very realistic and I’m well aware that there is no way I can win All-Stars. That said, I do feel like I can be competitive on another show…Boogie and I are considering requesting an interview for the Amazing Race. Tune in to CBS on the first live eviction to see what transpires and see how we make a case to be contestants on TAR!
MF: From Patti: Have you worked out any secret codes or whatever with anyone else before going into sequester?
WILL: Actually we have worked a couple of things out. Watch closely and you’ll see us communicate. I’ll be one of the first few evicted but I do have a couple of things up my sleeve…
MF: From Mr. Pearl: Of all the women who will be in the house with you, who would you most like to cozy up with or team up with, and why?
WILL: There are some hotties on this show! Janelle, Lisa, Erika, Diane… all hot. If my girlfriend dumps me in the next 24 hours (which could actually happen) I’ll be totally open for a rebound showmance!
MF: Who do you think will make your best pawns?
WILL: Me, unfortunately.
MF: Who do you think will be your toughest competition?
WILL: I’m coming in defeated. There is no way I’ll last even three weeks. There is no competition for me because it is such an uphill battle.
MF: Who is the most pathetic?
WILL: The most pathetic contestants are the ones that didn’t make the top 20, claim that they weren’t interested, and then continually post on the internet! If you are so happy with your new husband and new house go home, spend time with him, and stop bothering everyone else!
MF: Who will be your first target & why?
WILL: If I win the first HOH I’ll nominate myself. I’m completely serious. Reality suicide. I’m my own first target…
MF: Did you watch any of the other seasons? If so, anyone’s game you admired? Any you think just flat out copied your strategy? I think James took a few pages out of the ½ man ½ amazing book.
WILL: I’ve heard James is a good player. Danielle seems skilled. Marcellas knows more about Big Brother than Jon De Mol.
MF: From Cleskins: Is there anyone you don’t want in the house? Do any of them scare you?
WILL: It doesn’t really matter to me who is chosen. However, trust me when I tell you that in BB people get on your nerves easily. You might hate your co-workers but you can go home at 5:00. When Bunky starts crying about peanut butter on day two, I may push the emergency exit button and run out screaming.
MF: There are so many Will moments that I loved but one that stands out is when you peed during the HoH competition on the bed. Any chance this year you will pee ON someone?
WILL: There is a very good chance of that happening.
MF: Is there anything you won’t do on the show?
WILL: Of course there are things I won’t do. I have pride, tons of it. I will however do what I can to make the show entertaining and if that requires thinking outside of the box, so be it.
MF: Do you still have the infamous shorts & will they be returning to the BB house?
WILL: My shorts are more famous than most of the other houseguests. I can’t tell you how often people come up to me and ask about those shorts. Will the shorts be on All-Stars? Let’s just say that ALL the stars will be back in the Big Brother house this summer.
MF: Who was dumber? Marcellas for not saving himself when he had PoV & getting voted out or Kaysar for trusting a dumb whore & giving her Immunity & she got him voted out?
WILL: In their defense, hindsight is 20/20. Bad luck can and will happen to everyone at some point. As a rule, Big brother contestants aren’t exactly rocket surgeons (yes internet nerds, I meant to write “rocket surgeon”).
MF: From WinterRainbow: Julie told us that there wouldn’t be PBJ this time & the replacement would have you begging for it. Any thoughts to what this could be?
WILL: This is just another attempt to “raise the stakes”. This is the least of my concern. The producers need to scrap all the current ideas and start from scratch. Think about it: If they offer something gross to eat we’ll just skip a few meals.
MF: Any idea what any of the other twists could be?
WILL: I think everyone will agree with me that all of the previous ‘twists” weren’t actually twists. I’m not hard to impress but all of the ideas that the producers have presented have been boring. I’m actually hearing that there are some true twists this summer for a change.
MF: What do you think would make the game more interesting?
WILL: Here is my 10 step program to improve this show: 1) Get rid of the sequester house. 2) Make the final prize fluctuate throughout the season based on competitions. 3) Get rid of POV – what is the point of nominations if there is a veto? 4) Put a bounty on the heads of individuals that other contestants can win during the season. 5) Make the prizes more opulent. 6) Add more alcohol. 7) Designate a secret mole or two once the show begins 8) never base a competition on BB trivia – that is just super boring. 9) Let every evicted Hg vote 10) First luxury prize: trampoline.
MF: Also from WinterRainbow: If you had it your way, who would you want to be against in this Final 2?
WILL: Erin Brodie
MF: I know this is cheesy but I have to do it for some good “Willisms”. I will list the other candidates & you tell us what you think of each of them.
Will: I’ll address each contestant briefly but let me warn you that some feelings may be hurt. Additionally, this is just my take on these people so if you are a freaky Internet stalker and are in love with one of the following individuals, please don’t assassinate me when you read this. Thank you in advance for not killing me. These are just my opinions and my opinions don’t count for much.
Chicken George – In way over his head. This is probably not the show for him. Did you see his clip on the Early Show? I’m embarrassed for him.
Boogie – If he gets on, and if he can keep his mouth shut (that’s a big if), he will win All-Stars. He may be the smartest person on the show. He has no beef with any of the other potential HGs.
Bunky – He’ll only get on if Marcellas gets hit by a car on his way in the house. No way are they putting two older gay dudes on this show. I think it was cruel of CBS to even ask him to be in the 20 as his chances are slim. I hate to say this but of all the 20 HGs he is most likely to need serious counseling 5 days from now. Get the Kleenex ready. Oh, Nicole was pissed when she found out he was on – she feels he isn’t All-Star worthy.
Monica – My home girl. I’d love to see her win this show. Needs to win some competitions though. Turned me down for a secret alliance…
Danielle – My gut feeling is that she has gone off the deep end a little bit. BB3 may have messed up her wiring. I was told that she is attempting to make multiple secret alliances and has been taping all of her phone calls with other HGs. I’m serious. That’s weird. The most paranoid of all the HGs, which is probably a good trait to have. I also know she has been calling James non-stop.
Lisa – Super hot. Under the radar strategy won’t fly this time. Will only make it on the show if the producers want another winner on to take some of the heat off me. Probably can’t win again. Needs to wear a thong if she expects to make it to the sequester house. Really annoying voice and an undeserved attitude but really cool when she lets her wall down. Likes to drink. Someone I might be friends with if she could put her ego aside.
Marcellas – In the same position as Boogie. If he can keep his mouth shut and if the contests are about BB trivia he may do very well on this show.
Alison – Her strategy was to flirt but she isn’t very attractive and there are much hotter girls on the show this time. I suspect that the other girls will hate her. May be one of the first evicted. I’ve heard she has a secret alliance with Jase. Someone told me she was a cheerleader – no way. Boogie will probably hook up with her in the first week if there is booze.
Dana – A less hot version of Lisa. Seems to know the game well. Could be a sleeper and make it to the late rounds. Might not make it on the show however.
Erika – Probably won’t make it on the show. If she does she will go far since she will not be threat. Mike Boogie already has a secret alliance with her. I’ve heard she is really cool. I think they went on a date last week at Geisha House.
Cowboy – No way he gets on unless CBS wants to see how he interacts with that freaky sister of his. Not an All-Star in my book. Most likely to start crying first. Needs a chin implant.
Diane – Hot. Also she is angry because that guy dicked her over last time. Could go far. Most likely (along with Erika) to have a showmance with Boogie. She called Boogie last week to ask about a job. Very likely to develop a crush on me.
Jase – The new Hardy. Athletic. Not the brightest but could do well if he wins all the competitions. Can’t win the show because no one will vote for him in the end. May hook up with Allison because no one else will (just a guess).
Nakomis – See “Cowboy”
Howie – Dorky. Could get the sympathy vote in the end. Not a threat so could do well. Will get actinic chelitis on his lips in the next 5 years. Most likely to masturbate in the hot tub.
Ivette – Um, I can’t remember who this is. Is this the angry lesbo? May not make it on the show if I can’t remember her.
James – Thinks he is the best and he may be right…or not. May get eliminated quickly.
Janelle – Hot but too cool for school. The other girls will hate her. Better set up an alliance quickly. Most likely to fall in love with me.
Kaysar – This guys seems to be totally obsessed with Big Brother, which kind of creeps me out. He is however seemingly very popular and could go far if the fan vote matters…
MF: & while I am thinking of Bunky. I think one of the things that annoyed me the most is when he tried to embarrass you by asking if you would give your money to charity. Yeah. Like $500,000 after taxes is that much money for 3 months of work. So what charities will you not be giving it to this time in case Bunky is wondering?
WILL: I’m glad this was brought up because it is a point I want to address. I recently read that Lisa said that “most of her winnings” went to charity. Bullsh!t. Bunky said he wants to win so he can give money to charity. Bullsh!t.
Please let me make this crystal clear: Lying is totally acceptable on Big Brother. In real life however, lying make you look like an idiot. Not only am I sure that Lisa didn’t give “most of her money” to charity, I’m also sure that if Bunky won he wouldn’t give any away either.
I hate bullsh!tters. I may play a ruthless game of Big Brother but at least I am honest about myself and place in this world.
So here is the most important thing I am going to say in this interview: I truly feel that there is no way that I can even survive a few weeks in the Big Brother house. That said, if I am in the final two I will win the show. Here is why:
If I am in the final two I will pledge every penny of the prize money (after taxes of course) to charities determined by the evicted houseguests. I will sign the checks over on camera or take any means necessary to make it completely open and honest. I will also challenge the producers of the show, Les Moonves, and Julie Chen to match my contribution. What will I get out of it? I’ll be the winner of Big Brother All-Stars and I’ll know that I did the right thing.
I have been so lucky in the last few years. I’ve met some amazing people and made some outstanding investments. I have a wonderful girlfriend, a healthy family, a lucrative occupation that I love…I am truly blessed. I couldn’t ask for anything more. If a miracle was to occur and I was to win Big Brother I would give every penny (after taxes) away. I already have more money than I know what to do with…
MF: From ILUVBB: How do you feel being the biggest target this season since you’ve already won & what do you think you can do to change that?
WILL: Unless there is a huge twist very early on I will be the first evicted.
MF: From Patti: Do you have any plans for the cameras or to talk to us Internet nerds?
WILL: CBS and the producers aren’t going to make this the most interactive Big brother ever…I am. I will communicate to you all exactly what I am going to do and how I am going to do it. If you love me you are in for a treat. If you hate my tactics then start praying for the other houseguests because I will have no mercy on them. Anyone who enters the house is fair game.
MF: From Patti: Besides you, who do you think has the best chance of winning? In other words, who will get 2nd place?
WILL: Best chance of winning: Boogie, Diane, and Janelle. Second place: Danielle, Marcellas, and James.
MF: After you win in September, what is next for you? Any other TV shows in your future? What about personally? Are you ready to settle down & start a family?
WILL: I’m just a simple doctor. I’m looking forward to going back to work. I’m opening a few more restaurants and to continuing to film Dr. 90210 which will be fun as well.
MF: I read that you are now dating Erin Brodie, the winner of NBC’s “For Love or Money” 1 and 2. Is that true?
WILL: I’ve been dating Erin for about a year. She relates to me better then anyone I have ever met – not an easy thing to do. Such a sweetheart…
MF: You have been around the reality scene for a long time. I know you are friends with Theo from ‘Last Comic Standing’ ‘Road Rules’ & ‘Fresh Meat’. Who else in reality tv world have you become friends with & who just sucks?
WILL: Theo Von is one of my best friends. Trishelle has a bad rep but is actually cool as hell. Mike Boogie is one of the smartest and most successful people to ever come off a reality TV show. Chip and Kim from the Amazing Race as well as Brennan Swain, Valerie Penso [Temptation Island], Bradford Cohen [The Apprentice], Burton Roberts [Survivor]…all cool. Who sucks? Jonathan Baker [The Amazing Race] sucks – he thinks he is George Clooney. Johnny Fairplay is just creepy. Joe Millionaire also has an undeserved ego.
MF: Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to break into reality TV?
WILL: Break into reality TV? Are you kidding? Let me leave you with these last few thoughts:
I’m cocky but I work in a profession where it is imperative that I make quick decisions and have complete confidence in myself. Many people are turned off by my brazen attitude but it does allow me to speak my mind freely, which is a luxury most people don’t possess. Moreover, I can back up absolutely everything I say. At the risk of self-aggrandizement, I have had more success in reality television than anyone I know. I’ve sold two shows to New Line Television, I’ve hosted a show for NBC that did huge numbers in Europe and Asia, and I’ve been to every Hollywood event that you can go to. I co-own multiple restaurants, I have dated the most gorgeous girls in LA, and I live in a beautiful home…and at the end of the day, it took me five years to realize that none of that really matters.
Success in reality television does not translate into success in life. What makes me happy? My family, my friends, my girlfriend, hiking, surfing, my job. Reality television attempts to define who we are as people and one can’t achieve true happiness until you realize that the only person who can define happiness is you.
MF: Thanks so much for talking to us Will. I know you are going to give us a good summer. I think it is going to be the best season ever. Any final words before we see you on TV July 6th?
WILL: I guess the very last thought I want to leave you with is this: You can live your life any way you want, but you only live it once.
