I am still so thrilled that the Hippies won! On TES they are joined by all the other Racers & Phil presents them with their check. On R&K they tell them what they want to do next.

BJ was all pimped out like a king. Phil & the other teams were also there. BJ said this is just how they dress now. They’re rich & not going to hide it. Tyler was in a white suit, red shirt & yellow tie. Renee asked if they are surprised to be there cuz they finished last in 2 non-elimination rounds. Tyler said they TiVod the last episode & saw they won so it wasn’t a surprise for them.
Renee told Phil that she thought these 2 played a great game. Phil said he loves the contrast between them & Eric & Jeremy and BJ & Tyler and Ray & Yolanda were 3 teams that were so completely different. From the best legs ever on TAR [Yolanda] to 2 guys completely consumed in finding hotties around the word [Eric & Jeremy] to 2 other guys that haven’t seen a shaver for a long time & really aren’t concerned with showering on the race. BJ said they shower every day. Phil said he thinks that was a strategy actually.
Renee asked Eric & Jeremy what happened at the flag challenge. Jeremy said the brains came in & they just failed miserably. He said the Hippies got the brains obviously but they can run faster than them. Eric said they just lost it & have no one to blame but themselves & told the Hippies good job. Renee said they had a sizeable lead. Tyler said they will take them out to dinner.
Renee said Ray & Yolanda couldn’t get it out of 1st gear last night. Ray said they thought if they could just get there, Yolanda is like world class fast so they could have a chance but they could never quite get there. Renee asked Yolanda how frustrating that is & she said it is weird when you really want to be in the front & you’re not. You just have to focus on how much fun & exciting the race was & stop worrying about coming in 1st all the time. Renee said she liked what Ray said last night about doing the Race with someone you love & all of a sudden it is the “Amazing Relationship Race”. Did it take a toll on their relationship at all? Ray said he thinks their relationship was strengthened. You get the opportunity to see the world with someone you care about & go places you dream of & places you never dreamed you would ever be. He said that is an amazing experience in itself. Then he joked & getting to hang out with Hippies & Frat Boys. Phil said the Race tests a relationship. You are emotionally somewhere you’ve never been before.
Renee told Eric & Jeremy they could have been a little nicer perhaps. Eric said to who? Renee said in some of their demeanor & interactions with teammates. Eric said every team loves them. Renee said she thought Eric was a little snotty to the Hippies last night when they were at the hotel. Eric said at the end of the Race you have to decide if you are going to be friends with them or go for a million bucks. Jeremy said Tyler lied to him & he still hates him for that. Eric said the Hippies were playing a little dirty & so were they.
Renee asked the Hippies what was the story between them & MoJo. BJ said they jealous of them cuz they were really good looking. It just all got blown out of proportion. They are good friends with them now. Renee said well now yeah cuz they have a million dollars. Renee asked if they went into this wanting to win cuz at the end Tyler said they came into it with wide-eyed enthusiasm. Did they really want to win or just experiencing the world? Tyler said number one was finishing the Race & winning was going to be a bonus prize. BJ said they wanted full experience of the Race & the way to do that was to win. Tyler said also to get last place several times. BJ said & the Yield.
Phil congratulated all the teams & said the winning team really embraced this Race & enjoyed every single moment whether they were 1st or last & kept their spirit all the way to the end. He said they always hand out a really big check & they are not cutting back on the money but the size of the check cuz previous winners had some difficulty cashing it. He gave them 2 regular checks. Phil said maybe they will want to look into getting a stylist. Renee asked what they are going to do with the money. Tyler wants to buy a boat & live on it. Renee said he might be able to do that. BJ said spend some of it, maybe buy a house & throw a great house party. Tyler said he wants to buy clothes so he can look like Phil.
Phil said before they leave he wants to ask Ray to say something. He has something to say about his experience. Ray said the Race was a once in a lifetime experience & got to hang out with Hippies & Frat Boys but most of all Yolanda. It was special & wouldn’t be there if not for her. He takes her hand as he stands. She starts to cry & I tear up too. He goes in his pocket & says she is everything he dreamed of his whole life. He gets on one knee & the crowd goes wild. He opens the Tiffany blue box & takes out a ring & asked her if she will marry him. She cries yes & says she told him not to do it on TV. They seal it with a kiss. Renee said she didn’t win the big prize but did really. Champagne & a cake are brought out. Yolanda asked if they all knew about it & Renee said they did. They toast to Ray & Yolanda.
Next on to ‘Live with Regis & Kelly’. Tyler was in the same suit but BJ was in the orange pants, a black suit jacket & yellow t-shirt. Kelly asked what’s so hippiesh? Taylor said they have long hair & having more fun than anyone else. That’s different.
Kelly asked who named them the Hippies. BJ said some of the other teams named them cuz they decided that is what they looked like. Kelly asked if they wrote the Hippies off immediately. Tyler said instantly.
Regis said they have been best friends for a long time. He asked if they met at college. BJ said they met on Semester at Sea. They were on a ship circumnavigating the globe & hit it off while traveling so decided to do this show so they could travel some more.
Regis said whose decision was it to go on the show. BJ said he had seen a finale of the show & thought wow, it looks like a ton of fun. So he called Tyler & asked him to be his teammate. Tyler said he was like Amazing what? Tyler told him sure man. He will do one of his shenanigans again.
Regis asked don’t you think they are in their prime of their lives in their 20s would have an advantage over the old couples trying to run down the street. BJ said a lot of it comes to luck with cabs & getting a flight.
Kelly said you don’t know you are where you are or if you are ahead of the other teams right? Tyler said a lot of the times you are clueless so they get to the mat & think they are last but they weren’t. Kelly said is that the same with the final episode? Tyler said they knew they were first.
Regis asked what was the hardest thing they had to do. BJ said they had to eat crickets. Tyler said it was like 10 servings of crickets. They showed a clip of it. Regis said BJ scarfed it down pretty good. Tyler said the funny thing about crickets is you eat them & in the middle is filled with cold puss & guts, which is fine, but then the legs starting cutting up your tongue & throat. Regis said it is enough to curl your hair. Tyler said the Thai people do it all the time so they were trying to pretend like they were Thai people.
Regis said they must have been adventurous kids. Tyler said he comes from a family of hippies so they would always say come on we are going to the desert & find out power symbol. He said the smell of his youth is patchouli oil & pot. BJ said he had more of a less adventurous growing up. He is from South Jersey & they would go to Ocean City. Kelly said she knows that area well. She said they are neighbors.
Regis asked BJ what is next for him. BJ said this weekend at the L.A. Natural History Museum they are having their bug fair & they want him to be the celebrity judge on an insect iron chef. Tyler said he wants to go to Cuba & kiss Fidel Castor for his next documentary.
