One of the producers again says that there is nothing wrong with Paula. Yeah right.

Ellen said she didn’t know he started off as a dancer. She saw him on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. She asked what it is about AI that it is such a hit. Nigel said cuz there are just so many layers to it like an onion. You just keep breaking away layers. The public is involved & they get to select the Idol. #2 they are a dysfunctional family in Randy, Paula, Simon & Ryan. #3 there is some great talent that comes on. #4 it is one of those shows that brings the entire family together in an age where the proliferation of televisions all over the house. Families don’t come together. Kids are playing games & watching DVDs & this brings the family together. He said you can argue with your parents & say you don’t like that.

Ellen said he talked about his dysfunctional family. Nigel said not his wife Bonnie. Ellen said not Bonnie. They are still on Randy. Paula, Simon & Ryan. She asked was there a feud going on & is it cleared up now. Nigel said he doesn’t think there really was. Like any family, you have a row & get over it. When you’re in the public eye it’s sort of left on. Nigel said Ryan & Terri Hatcher got together & Ryan said something about Terri [I think he meant Paula] & Paula said something about the relationship saying she isn’t that desperate of a housewife to be with him or something like that. Ellen said Ryan is there tomorrow so she will ask him about it.

Ellen asked if he ever talks to Paula & says hey. Like she was crying last week. It was a beautiful song but… Ellen then showed the clip of Paula acting like a fool after Elliott’s performance. Ellen said she thinks everyone needs a really good cry every once in awhile. She will watch ‘Terms of Endearment’ & get it all out of her. Then it doesn’t come out at the wrong time. Does he ever say to her… hey? Nigel said the 1st series they were on the road & she was shocked at Simon being cruel & was in tears every day cuz she is the only one who had been a performer so knew what it was like to be condemned or hit on. She always wanted to stick up for them. She is an emotional person & a bit like her knickerbocker glory [I have no idea what he said or meant here], you never know what bit you are getting into. It all comes from the right place which is her heart. He said she is a wonderful person.
