Surreal Life: 4/9/06: I guess there are Idiots Everywhere!

The cast for this installment of the Surreal Life is for the most part, safe and a bit tame. After Janice and Omorosa, I guess it's to be expected and I have to say, it's a welcome change. Florence Henderson seems to add some credibility as well and the Smashmouth frontman Steve, is very down to earth and doesn't have that bad-boy rock and roller going. CC DeVille has been in rehab so he's not really "fun" (as in falling down drunk) and the muscle man (Steve 2) is a gentle nice-guy. I wonder if the casting directors knew this was going to happen or if they planned it all.

I bet they didn't plan on Sherman H sleeping all the time. Now, I'm no doctor but someone needs to get that guy to a cardiologist and fast. I think his ticker is giving out! He's asleep at the news station, when they are supposed to be rehearsing and hardly ever says a word. (when he does they have to subtitle it!) The other unplanned fun seems to be Tawny K's lack of anything upstairs--espeically when she tries to say anything. Now, it's probably nothing, but she really can't get out two words unless they are spontaneous. Put on the spot and forget it. The news segments with her were just painful to watch.

My fave, Alexis is just proving to be the VH1 Vixen we've all been missing over the years. She's smart (about 900 IQ points over everyone else on the show), sexy and funnier than hell. Thank goodness they put her in charge of the news production. After the show was over, the cast headed to a local bar where the locals proved there are bigots everywhere, even in Southern Cal. (we here in the state of NY think those folks in CA have seen and accept everything!). Poor Alexis gets taunted at the restaurant while the cast looks on. (I think Sherman was alseep then too!) Finally she gets into numerous altercations with the idiots that are making fun of her. Personally, I think she's so brave, it makes my heart melt. Steve 2 is very protective of his new friend and steps up to help her out of a pinch. The cast made a great decision to include him on the show. He's a nice reality find.

Next up the players get "talk shows" (can't wait to see Tawny try and do THAT! LOL) and Sherman once again falls asleep during the action. Like I said, get him to a doctor...STAT!
