Surreal Life: 4/2/06: The Surreal Life 6: News, Booze and Schoomze...

First of all, Alexis Arquette complains in this show that the news director made her executive producer so that she didn't have to appear on camera. I beg to differ, honey--they gave you that job because you are by far, the only person smart enough to handle it. With the exception of Flo Henderson and maybe that Steve guy from Smashmouth, we've got people that really need a clue most of the time.

The news segments are given out and everyone has to go and film and edit their own pieces. Tawny Kitaen is suffering from the word finding difficulties of both anomia and dysnomia. ( I as a speech pathologist am very familiar with treating those btw, want my card??) She can't for the life of her remember she's reporting on a "weathervane" and keeps pronouncing it "water vain". Like there's ever been a "watervane" in the history of the world. Not only that, she also can't of her come up with any words during the editing process. Like ANY words. Goodness. Guess thinking "on her feet" isn't her strong suit!

Sherman is the weatherman and wanders around eating from the snack table. You wonder how he ever learned his lines back in the days of George Jefferson. CC Deville has some fun going to a boxing ring and mixing it up with a girl. Unfortunately, he struggles with wanting a cocktail before airing. (a no-no for the recovery!) Flo is lead anchor which leads us to believe there is some hope for this show. She can't screw up, right?

Alexis runs around and changes midway through into a nice professional suit and seems to have most of it under control. Little does she know though, that playboy model Andrea gets trashed at the local winery by drinking about 9 glasses of wine. Andrea is then sent to the local farmer's market to do a live segment. Uh-oh.

The beginning of the episode had some poignant remarks about being transgender when Alexis talked to Tawny about her struggle. I really don't think she has a lot to worry about however; this gal is about the most well adjusted celeb to be on the Surreal Life since Christopher Knight.

Next week we see the cast screw-up on camera for the whole San Luis Obispo audience. Sherman looks to be about the worst, with ever forgetful Tawny eating up dead air. Alexis also takes on some mouthy bar guys and hopefully, sticks an umbrella up one of their butts. Heh, can't wait!
