Survivor: Exile Island: Nick on 'The Early Show'

Julie said he was even polite when ousted. She asked what he threw to Cirie. He said they were his socks. He got them from Dan. They are warm, comfy wool socks. There is no such thing as dirty, sweaty socks out there. Julie asked why Cirie when he knew she voted him out. Nick said he knows what it’s like to not have those kinds of things out there & by that point, bygones. He didn’t care. He wasn’t going to hold any grudges. Her socks worn torn up & he felt terrible for her. He told her before Tribal Council if it was him his socks were hers.



Julie asked if he thought before Tribal Council that it was going to be him cuz Austin had a target on his back. Nick was surprised it was him. Julie asked why does he think they picked him off? Julie said the Alliance of 6 all voted for him. Nick said physical threat. He surprised them during the challenge with his strength, endurance, what have you. Like Shane said in the meeting, they thought Austin was the physical threat & Nick proved he was more of a threat & that was his demise.



Julie said every Friday morning on TES they have a secret scene & Nick was so secure with his standing that she wanted to show this one. It was Nick saying he knows he & Austin are on the block tonight & thinks its awesome that Austin thinks it will be Austin & he is planning on going. Austin said he is disappointed this is his last few hours on the island but Casaya came into the merge with the numbers & unfortunately he has to go first. Austin tells his tribe there is nothing more he could have done. Nick said he is crushed & it was almost like if Austin goes, he wants to go.



Julie said he kind of got his wish cuz it was Nick who went & Austin stayed. She asked if Nick thinks Austin will be the next one off. Nick said it could be. Nick said he isn’t looking too good right now cuz Casaya is convinced Terry has the Hidden Immunity Idol & the next physical threat would be Austin.



Julie asked what are the rules of ‘Survivor’ cuz they found out last night that not only did Terry have the Immunity Necklace on but he has the Immunity Idol in his pocket & he could have saved one of them. Nick said he absolutely could have saved one of them. Julie asked if he knew he had both Immunity Idols. Nick said no, he didn’t know he had the hidden one. Julie asked if he ever asked him if he had it. Nick said he never directly looked him in the eye & asked him if he had it. Julie asked why not. Nick said it was just something, they didn’t know he had it for sure. When he did find out he had it it was a big shock to him. Julie asked if he feels betrayed by his own leader. Nick said it’s a game where even the greatest alliances are very thin & Terry is just looking out for himself & if he was in Terry’s position last night he would have done the same exact thing. He would have kept his mouth shut & if no one directly asked him if he had the Idol he certainly wouldn’t have come forth. Julie said so he can’t blame him. Nick said can’t blame him.



Julie asked if he thought Austin & Sally will feel the same? He doesn’t know cuz it honestly could have shaken up the game & they could have had Shane ousted. They would have had 4 on 5 & hopefully got Bruce with them. He thinks it was really Shane keeping Bruce on that team & it would have been amazing for the game & for him or Austin. Julie said you never know on ‘Survivor’. Nick said you never do but it’s Terry’s choice & hopefully it serves him well later in the game. Julie asked if he is rooting for Terry in the game. Nick said absolutely. Him & Austin. He hopes they are the final 2.



Julie asked what is next for him. Nick said Law school. Being a student & education is number 1 in his life right now. He doesn’t know. Julie said he is a good kid. Nick said it was a pleasure meeting her as she shook his hand.



What a great guy. You didn’t see any jealousy or anger. He took his ouster well. Better than most. I hope if they have another All Stars this guy gets another shot.
