Paula's eating disorder is front & center.

Paula is asleep on the couch. No one wants to wake her after the night she had last night so they all go out to breakfast without her. They talk about Paula & Svetlana is the most affected. She said she is deeply saddened. Tyler is turning out the be the biggest ***** of the season & he scoffs at her. Svetlana doesn’t understand why he always talks down to her. Svetlana analyzes Paula & wonders if she has Daddy issues & that is why she falls in love so quickly.
Paula is awake & tells us she is the oldest person in the house & she can’t keep it together. She goes out kayaking & then floats in the pool when everyone comes home. She apologized to Jose for her behavior the night before. She feels judged & doesn’t want people to write her off. She then apologizes to John & he tells her there is no need to. She doesn’t know why she unleashed her wrath on him but thinks there is potential there.
Tyler is bothered how everyone eats in the house. He said the gay community is so judgmental about people’s bodies & he doesn’t want to be a part of that. He wants them all to go to a gay club that night. Everyone is fine w/ it but Svetlana. She is uncomfortable cuz she pictures young boys being picked up by old men. She tells Tyler she would want to shelter the young boys. She is convinced to go w/ everyone else.
There is a drag show there & John gets up & dances. Eventually he has had enough & everyone leaves to go to a straight club. Tyler says that John peer pressured everyone to go. I’m sorry but that isn’t John’s fault IMO. They all have a mouth & can say no if they don’t want to leave. Blame them for being sheep then. Janelle leaves with Tyler to go back to the gay club & Tyler trashes John the whole time.
The other 3 guys are in the pool when Tyler & Janelle get home. Tyler bitches at John & John pulls him in the pool. Janelle said she didn’t need anyone to convince her to go anywhere else. Then why did you? Baaa. Tyler said his entire life he has had to abide by the straight agenda. Janelle said this isn’t about gay or straight but about going to the club they said they were going to from the beginning.
Janelle & Tyler talk privately & she said a lot of her friends don’t want to go to black clubs & was surprised they agreed to go to the gay club cuz straight guys never want to go there. Tyler agreed with Janelle that he needs to be more gracious about what John did extend to him.
Tyler tells John that he appreciated the effort. John said he had a good time. Tyler went to shake his head but John wanted a hug.
Janelle & Svetlana talk about Paula & that she is taking diet pills. They say of course she will react that way on alcohol if she isn’t eating & on those pills. They all go to a club & when they come home the guys jokingly wrap Paula up in a rug & carry her outside.
Paula doesn’t want John to smoke. He said he won’t if she will eat whenever he eats. This guy may come off as typical frat boy & he may be a bit brash but I give the guy a lot of credit for trying to help this girl, however crude his help may be. Paula said she can’t. She knows she has a disease but she doesn’t want to be pudgy, fat & alone forever. John can’t believe she said that & told her she won’t be. Paula said guys may think she’s too thin but girls look at her & say they want that body. I don’t think so. John asks her to eat a hot dog & she said she will but not the bun. John said they will take baby steps & have to crawl before they can walk.
John asked Paula to say one thing she loves about herself cuz she is always so negative. She cries & can’t say anything. She talks to Janelle & said she didn’t want everyone to get to know everything about her cuz they judge. She feels like snake w/ a layer ripped off. She feels ugly all the time. Janelle asked if she wants help. Paula said she is tired of living & wants to breathe & be normal. Janelle asked if she would get professional help & Paula said she is willing. Paula said she can’t live like this forever.
This episode made me cry. I really feel for Paula & know BMP is just casting their next Pedro & that this is an important issue but it kills me to see her exploited like this. I know she wanted to be on the show but I am just uncomfortable watching it. But if it helps just one girl I guess it is worth it.
