Who was the first couple eliminated?

This week they added another technical requirement. They had to synchronize their footwork. The theme was music from the 70’s. Their total score this week would be added to their score from last week & the couple with the lowest would be eliminated.

Kristy & Lloyd were first. They skated to ‘Boogie Fever’. I didn’t think it was as good as last week but the judges all liked it better. For Technical John Nicks gave 8.5, Dorothy Hamill gave 8.4 & Mark Lund gave 8.3, a total of 25.2. In Artistic they got 8.6, 8.5, 8.4 = 25.5. The total for this week is 50.7 & adding that to last week brings their total to 98.2.

Dave & Nancy skated to ‘Get Up Offa That Thing’. They had trouble practicing cuz Dave was having a hard time getting it. Nancy fell during rehearsal. Like the first couple, they didn’t look as good this week as they did last week. In Technical they got 7.9, 8.0, 7.8 = 23.7. In Artistic they got the same exact scores so their total was 47.4 for this week & 96.7 combined. They take last place so Kristy & Lloyd are safe.

Bruce & Tai skated to ‘Shake Your Groove Thing’. Tai says they were both in their prime in the 70s. Bruce’s dedication gets to Tai & she took a day off from practicing while he worked alone. They almost fell at the end of their song & John took a shot at them saying they aren’t in the same shape that they were in back in the 70s. They got 7.9, 8.3, 8.1 = 24.3 for Technical & 8.1, 8.4, 8.2 = 24.7 for Artistic to total 49.0 for this week. Their score is 97.8 combined so they are out of danger.

Jillian & John skated to ‘More Than A Woman’. Jillian got a groin injury during practices. My husband was really upset during their skate cuz he just thinks it is so unfair that Jillian has had years of lessons & says it is obvious when you compare her to the other girls. John did almost drop her once. They got 8.4, 8.6, 8.2 = 25.2 for Technical & 8.5, 8.4, 8.3 – 25.2 for Artistic. Total for this week is 50.4 & combined is 102.2. Obviously they aren’t going anywhere for awhile.

Deborah & Kurt were up next with ‘You’re The One That I Want’. I loved their Sandy & Danny costumes. Deborah didn’t know how good her competition was until she watched them perform so she is now more aggressive & has stepped up her game cuz she is “in it to win it”. I didn’t like their skate as much as last week either. They got 7.8, 8.2, 8.0 = 24.0 in Technical & 7.9, 8.3, 8.1 = 25.2 for Artistic to total 48.3 this week & 96.3 combined. That brings them down to last place so Dave & Nancy are safe.

Todd & Jenni were last with ‘Jungle Boogie’. Jenni’s husband, Todd Sand, helped Todd practice this week. & this is what this show should be. It is obvious Todd doesn’t have any prior experience whatsoever. & unlike Master P on DwtS, he is trying so hard & his performances are actually fun to watch. I was so sad for him when he fell. My husband pointed out that it shouldn’t hurt his score cuz it was part of the song. He fell when it was saying “Get down. Get Down.” Todd got right back up though & continued on. When the skate was over you could see how mad at himself Todd was. The audience threw stuffed animals on the ice. & while I don’t have a problem w/ the dick judge being mean to P, I didn’t like this one ripping into Todd cuz again, he is trying & not making excuses & refusing to do what he is asked. They got 7.9, 7.9, 7.9 = 23.7 for Technical & 8.1, 8.1, 8.0 = 24.2 for Artistic totaling 47.9 for this week & 95.6 combined. They have the lowest score & were eliminated.

It’s a bummer that he went but he did fall & is the worst skater out of the 6 of them so I can live with it. This is only a 6-episode series so there are only 4 more to go.
