Kristy Swanson & Lloyd Eisler were robbed by the judges.

: I am not a fan of the dancing show but thought I would try this one cuz who doesn’t want to watch F-list celebrities get hurt on the ice? This show is the same as ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in that you have a quasi-celebrity perform with a professional. This show is hosted by Scott Hamilton & Summer Sanders & has 3 judges too, 2 guys & a girl. I do not follow skating so I don’t know the 2 guys but I do know who Dorothy Hamill is. Who doesn’t? The skaters will be judged on Technical Merit & Artistic Impression & have to complete a spin of at least 3 revolutions.
This week’s theme is “Music from Movies”. The first to skate are Deborah “Debbie” Gibson with Kurt Browning. I thought they were ok. Debbie was a little stiff. The judges voted in this order: John Nicks, Dorothy Hamill, Mark Lund. In Technical they got 7.8, 7.9, 8.0. For Artistic they got 8.0, 8,2, 8.0. Their total was 48.0 out of a possible 60.
Bruce Jenner & Tai Babilonia are next. I can not look at Bruce cuz he creeps me out. He & Joan Rivers must have the same plastic surgeon. Bruce had a lot of trouble when they rehearsed as he kept falling due to a bad knee. I didn’t think he did that bad a job though. For technical they got 8.0, 8.1, 8.2. For Artistic they got 8.1, 8.3, 8.1. Their combined score was 48.8 giving them the lead.
Kristy Swanson & Lloyd Eisler skated next. She is the original “Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. I thought she did a good job even though they had a hard time cuz she is right-handed & he is leftie. I think one of the male judges, Mark Lund, has something personal against Lloyd & that is why they got such sucky scores. They were so robbed. For technical they got 7.9, 7.9, 8.0. For Artistic they got 7.9, 7.9, 7.9. Their score was 47.5 & that put them in last. They would stay there too.
Todd Bridges skated with Jenni Meno. Todd can dance but surprisingly, his partner can’t. He had a good time on the ice & I loved how the bottom of his pants made it look like his skates were cowboy boots. He almost fell once but kept on going. He cracked up the audience when he asked a judge, “Whatchu talking about”. For Technical they got 7.7, 7.8, 7.8. For Artistic they got 8.0, 8.3, 8.1. Their total was 47.7 putting them in 4th place.
Jillian Barberie & John Zimmerman were up next. I really hate this girl. Her entertainment show ‘Good Day L.A.’ was syndicated for awhile as ‘Good Day Live’ & I would watch but she was extremely obnoxious & a hypocrite. She’s on an ENTERTAINMENT show but would b!tch about people caring about celebrities lives. All she wanted to talk about was fashion. Boring! Jillian had an advantage over most of the “celebrities” cuz she grew up in Canada & has been skating her whole life. She did a decent job. For Technical they got 8.4, 8..4, 9.0. For Artistic they got 8.7, 8.3, 9.0. Their score was 51.8 & they take the lead & there they will stay.
Dave Coulier & Nancy Kerrigan were last. Dave is another one from Canada who has skated his whole life. But he plays hockey & that is a lot different. Then again, it is still better than Todd who has never been on skates. Dave even introduced his former co-star, Candace Cameran, to her hockey star husband. It cracked me up that Dave didn’t like the toe pick on his figure skating skates. Have you ever seen the movie “Cutting Edge’ with Moira Kelly & D.B. Sweeney? Same thing. He was a hockey player who started skating pairs & didn’t like the toe pick. Every time he would fall but Moira was still standing she would taunt him saying, “toe pick”. So I said it a million times as we watched, driving my husband bonkers. So it was no shock that these 2 skated well & got good marks. For Technical they got 8.2, 8.3, 7.9. For Artistic they got 8.5, 8.3, 8.1. Their total was 49.3 & they take over 2nd place.
The order from best to worst in scores are Jillian, Dave, Bruce, Deborah, Todd & Kristy. It moves from Wednesday to Mondays starting next week [1/23]. It is only a 6-episode series.
