The Bachelor/ ette: 1/9/06: Do I Smell Rotting Eggs?

I have to admit, I usually watch episode one and the last few of the Bachelor. I don't much care for the in-between anymore. Not after millions of shows they've done that have ended in boring rose ceremonies. I'm so glad I watched last night! Hubby and I hunkered down (he to check out the bevvy of beauties and me to make the catty remarks) on the couch and laughed ourselves silly. We did recognize places in Paris we've personally seen before and wondered what the French are making of this show. After all, we ARE the people that decided that French Fries were to be forever called Freedom Fries in our nation's capital!

The limo scenes were predictable and it's always great to guess what each lady does for a living before it flashes on the screen. You always get plenty of "marketing research or managers"--but this time there was even two doctors on there! (how in God's name they could take the time off is beyond me--I hope their patients back home didn't have to wait in the HMO line too long!) Another thing were the names this time. We had a "Venus"...a "Shilo" and some other ones I couldn't even pronounce. (neither could Travis!) As the night wore on, it became pretty predictable right down to the set. They may have been in Paris but it sure looked like Lot #13 in good old Hollywood to me.

Travis seems like a nice enough guy. I saw him on the morning shows and heard how his sister told him to "live it up" and get on the show. He's certainly not a "celeb wannabe" (at least not yet) and that's refreshing. He gave the one rose he could to a cutie from Canada because she likes to camp. (awwwwww) She's also one of the younger ones and a student. Guys always go for those girlies, don't they?

On to the real fireworks. Well, seems Ali G (who's a doctor in her own right) thought this was a show about making babies because befor you knew it, she was spouting about her eggs "rotting" and she was at the "right time" to reproduce. You could hear her patients running to make phone calls to change their files! Travis wisely dumped her. Ali G wasn't giving up without a fight. She took herself and her mole into the house and ranted about not having big boobs and demanding an answer. I knew the control room was drooling. What a casting dream--! Someone for all of us to talk about the next day! Personally, I feel sorry for her parents. Once proud of their Doc Daughter, they are now probably hiding from the neighbors!

And so...sigh, Tristin picks his gals--none very memorable and all pretty and perky. I guess I'll have to just see if Love Takes Over. Right?
