This was a great show. Getting it out of the way, I think the Bottom Three should be Ty, J.D., and Mig, with probably J.D. getting the big boot. By DaHouster

It looks like Bwak Bwak is celebrating her separation from her husband, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Garth Fisher, by showing off her boobs and boots.
So we start at Westlake Studios, where J.D. seems to start his great big Humpty Dumpty fall, for reasons only known to him, while Suzie continues to impress, and Marty finally sees the light. Jordis miffs Andrew Farriss by "moving around the melody" of the new INXS song.
Now we're back, and the shot of the night goes to Dave Navarro, who told Bwak Bwak that her boots definitely "weren't made for walking", which I thought was an oblique put-down of Jessica Simpson.
Next, out comes Ty Taylor, looking very theatrical in his red shirt and vest with Mohawk and continuing to cut his throat deluding himself that his "gospel rock" will make him "Roit For Our Bahnd, INXS." Fortunately for Ty, the band liked his take on The Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want", which probably includes a gig as lead singer of INXS.
I actually enjoyed his performance, which was a little boring until he blended in with that great choir from the Brookens A.M.E. Chruch. Great ending as well. Ty still thinks this is American Idol with that big glory note.
And Ty's mom was once George Jefferson's mom in the 1970's and 1980's.
Not only did J.D. Fortune not rehearse the INXS song, he turns out to have been an Elvis impersonator a few years ago. Haha! I think after tonight, both J.D. and Elvis will be leaving the building, i.e., the Mayan Theater. I also hate his cap.
Dave called him out on not rehearsing the song, and J.D., looking like a blind Blues Brother, humminad that he thought INXS would tell him what they wanted in the studio. And that the dog ate the lyric sheet.
J.D. does have tons of stage charisma, and he sang "Suspicious Minds" better than Clay Aiken did on Good Morning America back in July, but he had a slow start, said "c'mon" three times (proving that J.D. went to the Diana DeGarmo school of Musical Performance Technique), but he could have been A LOT better on the bridge (maybe only Elvis himself could have sang the bridge the way he did it back on the original in 1969) , it was a bit cheesy. Foreshadowing J.D.'s possible ouster was Dave's comment that the performance "might not elevate him in the competition." Andrew Farriss complimented him for a passionate delivery, but I think he may have been damning him with faint praise.
The Michael Hutchence Memorial Award goes to Marty Casey this week, for an excellent toned down and yes, tuneful performance of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here." Big props to Kirk Pengilly for pointing out that the song is about a missing band member. If Kirk had replaced Simon Cowell on "Idol", he would have informed Carrie Underwood that "Independence Day" is not about the Fourth of July but about a woman who gets away from her abusive husband.
The difference between this show and "Idol."
While Marty wasn't exactly Roger Waters, I think he was close enough to Hutchence to be the favorite now to win this gig, if he really wants to leave his Chicago band, The Lovehammers. Marty's Aunt looked very Chicago.
For some reason, I'd like to hear Marty take on that current hit song by Lifehouse.
Jordis Unga was awesome, and I enjoyed her acoustic guitar too. Although she sang a little too softly in the verses, I thought. Also Jordis "moved the melody" a little on the song as well, because sometimes too many cigarettes make you miss the key. Great ending though. If the Broadway show "Lennon" lasts (and with Yoko Ono supervising, its a bad bet), Jordis could fit right in with that production right now.
And you have to like Jordis, now that I know that George Clinton is her dad.
Also -- Memo to Jon Farriss: Big Boys Do Cry.
Now wasn't Mig Ayesa totally off key rehearsing Paul McCartney's James Bond movie theme from the 1970's, "Live And Let Die"? And even though I enjoyed Mig's gritty performance, and he has tons of stage charisma, he still doesn't totally impress me for some reason. A little showy, screamy and schmaltzy (kangaroo schmaltz). Kirk Pengilly hit the nail on the head again when he noted that Mig sang through the normally instrumental portions of the song -- and the band was taking no prisoners on that song.
Also guilty of extending the glory note for about 15 years a la Clay AIken.
I just had the thought listening to Mig that he should star in the remake of "Beatlemania", but not be the lead singer of INXS.
Maybe Mig should have done Guns & Roses' version of that song instead.
Sure, Suzie McNeil was great doing a cut-up version of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", but she had the great house band, a string section, and a choir working with her, which made her performance all that much better. Maybe that's why some people think Suzie is forgettable. I didn't think Suzie, standing alone, was quite as great as everyone, including Kirk, thought she was, although I thought it was excellent. Suzie wasn't so great in reheasal, so great job on stage.
As an aside, I heard a live version of Paul Rogers, the lead singer of Bad Company who now tours with the remaining members of Queen, singing "Fat Bottomed Girls". It was sensational.
The final three on the last show almost certainly will be some combination of Mig, Marty, Jordis, and Suzie.
And on a more serious note, we should all pray for the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. And be thankful that most of us can sit in our comfortable homes reading the internet while those people are suffering.
