American Idol: 5-11-05: Anthony Federov gets his WALKING PAPERS!

America voted and with their good ear for music and their ability to hear off pitch performances, they just knew that Anthony was not this years AI winner. America got it right and gave Federov his one-way ticket home. Adios Anthony! In my opinion, Federov should have been eliminated at least three weeks ago if not more!!!

The show opens and out comes Seacrest in a suit, yes a suit! For the first time in a long time the normally smart mouth Seacrest did not swagger when he got on stage. He was **** GASP**** NORMAL!

Ryan starts off with his usual showing of dramatics and shares with us that we need to IMAGINE, that the four finalists standing there beat out over 100,000 people who were vying for position to try to take Hollywood by storm.

To make the half hour elimination round short and sweet, there was the group song, which was Islands in the stream, as usual the finalists sounded good together as a group. (no surprises there). They had a strange ford commercial that was supposed to let us know that driving that particular ford car was a hair-raising experience!

We see each of the finalist’s first audition and what the judges thought of them at that time. Ryan asks the judges for their opinion, who gave the traditional exchange of pleasant reviews. They have grown, they could win AI this year, they have their own unique identity, and they believe in themselves, they liked them very much.

Then Ryan gets down to the nitty gritty and makes it brief. He tells Bo he is safe, Carrie she is safe, Vonzell is safe, and Anthony is out of there! We go through Anthony’s journey, he sings his farewell song, which was cut off again. The only time we ever got to see a finalist’s farewell song was with Constantine. The three finalists will be going back home then going back to compete for the final two spots.

This week the finalists did raise the bar, they must continue to do this, they must eliminate weak and emotional moments, and they must come out to win and to try to sway votes from the fans that watch AI.

Bo, Carrie, and Vonzell have to give it their all, push into their interior and pull out more then they ever had to win this. This year the fans are not as loyal! as they have been in the past and its anyone’s, win! It will be dependent on how well they do in the final two rounds!

Vonzell- is a beautiful singer who has shown us how dynamic and how much she can rally to dunk slam her performances. She literally brings down the house and raises the roof!

Carrie- is also beautiful( I have always said that) and she can also belt out a song, and she can raise the roof. Carrie must focus on her vocals.

Bo- has the experience of performing, he has stage presence, and he can sing, he sometimes puts too much effort in his stage presentation and not enough in his vocal range.

It is anyone’s win and all three of the finalists have to focus on their vocal pitch, tone, range, and stage presence. They need to not focus on what everyone thinks of them, thinks of their singing, or what others think they represent! Based on last nights performances form the three finalists left I do think it will be a singing battle. It is going to get exciting! In ending, all three finalists have the ABILITY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR THEMSELVES! It will depend on how much they want Idol win!
