Here is a recap of the latest episode. Dog Eat Dog
August 12, 2002

Okay I finally watched this show last night while trying to maintain wakefulness for the 9:00pm airing of BB3. It was kind of like a cross between who wants to be a millionaire and fear factor. When I tuned in there were 3 guys and 2 girls. Before I recap this, please be warned that the recap will be sketchy because I just decided to recap it and I did not pay close attention to what was going on so bare with me.
Apparently they spent some time together prior to the show doing different stunts and answering various trivia questions so that they could a) understand the game better and b) get a feel for each other's weaknesses. The object of the game is to put your opponents in the doghouse and win the $25,000 prize. The players who end up in the doghouse try to keep the player from winning the $25,000 by beating them at the end at a face off. If they succeed, they will receive $5,000 each. Now we are at game time:
The host (Brook somebody) or shall I say scantily clad host tells them what the stunt will be and they have to write down the name of the person they think should do the stunt. They usually pick the person they think will fail the stunt. If that person fails they have to go to the doghouse. If, however, that person succeeds, he/she gets to pick another contestant to go to the doghouse. The person with the most votes does the stunt. Of course this is after some stupid dialogue regarding why this person was chosen.
The fist mission is some wheel torture looking thing. A loser has to go through this ball looking thing while it is spinning (and pretty fast might I add) and start walking through 6 or 7 chambers in 2 minutes (I think) and retrieve a flag from each chamber. Oh I forgot a massive amount of wind is blowing during this time as well. They choose one of the girls because she has issues with height and spinning. She fails the mission and ends up in the doghouse.
The next stunt is a water mission. The person must take x amount of balls and swim down and put it into a box (called pandora box) in 2 minutes. Much easier than the last task. They choose Lisa because they think she hates water. She wins and boots Adrian (male) off because she thinks he would be her biggest competitor.
The next stunt is to climb over a ferris wheel looking thing and under it and reach a flag in a set amount of time. They choose Peter because they do not believe he is agile. The wheel is suspended from the air so it wobbles. This is a rather hard mission because not only do you have to climb over the top while it is moving, you have to walk back down the side and underneath and start climbing back up the other side in order to reach the flag. He almost makes it but fails to be able to climb up and reach the flag. He only lacked about one or two bars to climb up before he fell off.
The next mission is strip golf. The object is to hit the ball into the hole without losing your clothes. You have to remove one article of clothing for each ball you receive starting with the first ball. Also each time you miss, you have to start over but from a closer line. You do not get to start from where your ball ended up. Collin was chosen because neither of the girls wanted a girl to get naked. He started with a shoe and before he knew it he was in his boxers. He declined to try one more time and ended up in the doghouse.
The last mission was between Lisa and another girl. They had to stand on two poles in the pool. The poles were very wobbly and if after 5 minutes they were both still standing, they would through rain down on them. After 5 minutes and many butt shots courtesy of the camera man, they were both standing (barely) so they started the rain. The other girl fell off.
Now it was time for the face off between the winner and the losers. It was a trivia competition. Lisa would get one point every time they missed a question. They would receive one point every time they got one right. Whoever reached 3 points first, wins. Lisa gets to choose who gets to answer which question but she may only choose each person once.
1st question is a music question and she asks the girl that fell off the pole. The question is "What 80's band sang Africa and Rosanna? The girl does not know and says The Police? Wrong - Toto (Lisa 1 - doghouse 0)
2nd question is a television question and she asks Peter to answer it. Whose is the star of Ally McBeal - he does not know. Ally McBeal (Lisa 2 - doghouse 0)
3rd question is about technology and she asks Adrian. Microsoft is based in the city of Redmond - What state is that in? He answer Washington and gets is right (Lisa 2 - doghouse 1)
4th question is about food - what candy bar, besides mounds, has the slogan sometime you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't? He answers Almond Joy correctly.
5th question is about History. She has to choose the last girl. Which President was a Vice President and never elected to the position? She answers Collin Powell (sp?) and it is President Ford.
Lisa wins $25,000.
My largest rant is that the trivia questions were way too simple. These people must live in a cave not to be able to answer some of the questions (like Ally McBeal). Heck her size alone has made many headlines. Oh well, overall it is not my favorite show, I certainly would not record it nor would I race to watch it but I would watch it if I did not have anything else to do. The people on it remind of the people that are on Baywatch - cheesy and over salined.
